Predicate is a private site for one group of friends. It shows ads to nobody, sells data to nobody, and moves money for nobody. Three services are needed to run it — Clerk for sign-in, Railway for hosting and the database, Sentry for error reports — and nothing goes anywhere else.
What is collected
By the identity provider (Clerk). Your email address and your name, from either the Google account you sign in with or the one you typed at sign-up. Signing in requires them. Clerk also keeps its own record of your logins.
In this site's own database. Deliberately little that identifies you:
- your Clerk user id and a display name — your email address is not stored here
- your role, your exposure cap, when you joined, and whether you have been removed
- everything you do in the market: orders, contracts, forecasts and confidence, comments, objections, judge rulings, ledger obligations and settlements, and scores
In server logs. Ordinary request logs, plus one line per sign-up webhook keyed by its delivery id so a missing member can be traced. Email addresses are deliberately kept out of these.
In error reports. When something breaks, a report goes to Sentry: the stack trace, the page or endpoint involved, and the surrounding request context, which can include your IP address and session identifiers. Reports from the browser are relayed through this site's own path so that ad-blockers do not silently swallow them — that is a routing detail, not extra collection.
There are no advertising or analytics trackers, and no cookies beyond the ones your sign-in session needs.
Who processes it
- Clerk — authentication. Holds your email, your name, and your login history.
- Railway — hosting and the Postgres database. Holds everything in the site database, plus the server logs.
- Sentry — error monitoring. Holds crash reports.
Each acts as a processor for this site under its own terms. No one else receives your data.
What is never done
- Your data is never sold, rented, or traded. Not to anyone, at any price.
- No advertising, no ad networks, no cross-site tracking, no analytics vendor.
- No money is moved. Payment details are never asked for, held, or processed, because the site never touches money.
- Nothing is shared beyond the three processors above, other than a legal demand the operator has no ability to refuse.
Who can see what
Everyone in your group can see the group's activity: markets, the order book, comments, positions, the ledger, and the leaderboard. This is a shared scoreboard among people who know each other, and it is not built to keep secrets between members. Membership is checked on the server on every request, so nobody outside the group sees any of it.
Deleting your account and your data
Ask the admin. Two separate things happen:
- Your identity account is deleted at Clerk. That removes your email address, your name, and your login history from the only place they are held.
- Your membership is marked removed. You lose access to the group immediately.
What survives, plainly: your trading history and any ledger entries stay in the database, and so does the member row they point at. Deleting a settled obligation would corrupt the record of who owed whom — including for the other member named in it, who did not ask to have their history rewritten. Your display name is a copy of your Clerk name taken when you joined; changing it afterwards is a manual edit by the operator, so ask if you want it anonymised.
Reaching the admin
The group admin is whoever invited you. Reply to that invitation, or use whichever channel your group already uses to talk to each other. There is no support desk here — it is one person you already know.
